5 stars - Ice Cold Murder is book #2 in the Charlie Kingsley Mysteries series by Michele PW.

Charlie Kingsley agreed to go with her friend for the reading of Claire’s grandmother’s will.  What could go wrong spending the weekend in a haunted house with Claire’s estranged family during a snowstorm?  And then there is a death.

The first thing that came to my mind when I finished this was ‘Wow!’  I couldn’t put this down.  The author did a good job of introducing all the family members.   There were moments where it was really creepy and I felt like Charlie and wasn’t clear about who could be trusted.

Zucchini Chips and Poisoned Lips is book #26 in the Sandy Bay Cozy Mystery series by Amber Crewes.

Meghan is in her final days of pregnancy and is ready to meet her baby.  Unfortunately, there’s a murder and Meghan can’t help but do a little investigating.

There’s a lot of emotion in this book, both happy and sad.  It is the final book in the series and it wrapped up really well as Meghan and her family close out one chapter of their lives and start on a new one.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Put Out to Pasture is book #2 in the Farm to Table series by Amanda Flower.

Shiloh Bellamy is back in Michigan working to save her family farm.  She holds a festival to showcase organic food. It is a huge success until a body is found on the farm.  Her best friend is a prime suspect so she adds investigating the murder to her long to-do list.

I really like Shiloh and her love for the farm.  The town is full of interesting characters and the animals play a big role which is a plus for me.  The mystery was interesting and as you learn more about the victim, there are more than just the usual suspects.  I recommend this book and am looking forward to see what happens next.

Murder Faux Paws  - 4 stars

Murder Faux Paw is book #5 in the Nick and Nora Mystery series by T. C. LoTempio.

A local PI’s death is ruled a suicide, but then another PI dies and Nora and Nick are on the case to figure out what the first PI had been investigating and if the two deaths were related.

Nick is my favorite part of the book. I hope we learn more about his background.  The mystery was interesting and I liked that others were involved in helping figure out some of the clues. Nora having to deal with her unexpected guess was entertaining.  The romantic triangle was a little annoying. Hopefully she’ll make a decision soon.

This was the first book I’ve read in the series, but I enjoyed it and have purchased the first book to catch up on the series.

Pumpkin Spice & Deadly Heist - 4 stars

Pumpkin Spice & Deadly Heist: A Cozy Mystery is book #1 in the The Nosy Paralegal Mystery series by Tanya R. Taylor.

Barbara Sandosa is a paralegal at a small but prestigious law firm.  A man comes in claiming he was being falsely accused of a crime and needed legal representation.  Barbara and her assistant, Harry, decide to step in and do some investigating of their own.

I like the premise of this series.  It is reasonable that they may need to look into things for their boss.  I was also surprised by how the case wrapped up. I’m not a fan of amateur sleuths committing crimes during their investigation.  I also didn’t enjoy how the people in the office spoke to or about each other.

It’s the first book in the series and something that happened at the end has me intrigued and I look forward to reading the next book.
